Day Trip Pugu Hills Forest Hiking


Pugu is a Tanzanian town close to Kisarawe, about 20 km south-west of Dar es Salaam. It is formally an administrative ward of the Ilala District, in the Dar es Salaam Region. At the 2002 census, the ward had a total population of 14,652. Pugu is located in a hilly region called the Pugu Hills.


Pugu Hills nature reserve park is the perfect city escape from Dar es Salaam outside the tourist track. The former name was Mogo Forrest, and a part of this area is considered to be one of the oldest forests in the world. It’s an evergreen forest with over 80 species of birds, so this is also a bird watcher paradise.

Be picked up from your hotel in Dar es salaam at 6:30am on a private vehicle and drive towards kisarawe district for about 30 minutes,Its a 25 kilometres drive from the centre of Dar Es Salaam.On arrival we shall check in at the forestry office before heading to the start point of the hike. Through the Hiking,we shall pass through majour points such as Kisarawe water reservoir, The View Point,The Shrine  before ending our hike at the camp site where we shall have our Lunch.
